Baltimore, MD, Dec. 15, 2022 – Pro Bono Counseling today announced it received a $40,000 grant from Truist Foundation to expand the reach of its continuing education program for mental health clinicians.

“Pro Bono Counseling is dedicated to ensuring that, through educational workshops, our volunteer clinicians gain skills that support their clinical practice and further their professional development,” stated Pro Bono Counseling Executive Director Amy Greensfelder. “We are grateful Truist Foundation has chosen to recognize and support the efforts of Pro Bono Counseling with this grant.”

Mental health care and the need for counseling are at an all-time high. The increasing levels of anxiety, isolation, and financial hardships are leading to large numbers of new clients, and Pro Bono Counseling has expanded its clinician recruitment to meet this large demand. This grant will support Pro Bono Counseling to continue providing high-quality mental health services to individuals, couples, and families in Maryland who would otherwise be unable to access these resources.

“Providing access to programs, services, and clinicians that support mental health and well-being is critical to creating safety and stability for individuals and communities,” said Greg Farno, regional president for Truist’s Maryland region. “We’re proud to lend our support and live our purpose to inspire and build better lives and communities.”
