Pro Bono Counseling to Honor Its Licensed Mental Health Volunteers at Gratitude Gathering
Event to Feature Presentation of the Dr. Radha Pathak Humanitarian Award
Baltimore, MD, May 5, 2025 – Pro Bono Counseling will host its annual Gratitude Gathering on Wednesday, May 14, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, celebrating the invaluable contributions of its dedicated volunteers. Each year, these licensed mental health professionals make a profound impact by ensuring that all Marylanders—regardless of barriers—have access to vital mental health care. The event will also recognize the generosity of PBC’s supporters and community partners while honoring Harita Raja, MD, with the prestigious Dr. Radha Pathak Humanitarian Award.
“For more than 30 years, Pro Bono Counseling has connected thousands of Marylanders with the mental health care they need and deserve,” said PBC Interim Executive Director Roxanne Melgar, LCSW-C. “This work would not be possible without the unwavering dedication of our volunteer therapists and the generosity of our supporters. We are especially thrilled to present the Pathak Award to Dr. Raja in recognition of her tireless efforts to promote mental health awareness and wellness, particularly in the South Asian community.”
“I am grateful to receive the Dr. Radha Pathak Humanitarian Award from Pro Bono Counseling,” said Harita Raja, MD. “It is incredibly meaningful to be recognized by an organization whose mission aligns so closely with my own passion for mental health equity. I share this honor with all those who are working tirelessly to break down stigma and expand access to compassionate mental health care.”
