Organization is now Pro Bono Counseling – Your Mental Health Connection

Baltimore, MD, May 2, 2022 –Pro Bono Counseling, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure that Marylanders with limited resources requesting mental health care are provided access to volunteer licensed mental health professionals and other necessary supportive services, announces the launch of an updated organization name and added tagline: Pro Bono Counseling – Your Mental Health Connection. This update is effective immediately and will include the new logo below.

“The updated organization name will provide more clarity of the organization’s purpose and role,” stated Pro Bono Counseling Board President Gilbert Bliss. “It will also allow us to further increase awareness of the organization as well as strengthen support of our goal to help all Maryland residents find the right mental health professional and resources to meet their needs, no matter their income or background.”

In the coming weeks, the organization will transition all materials to reflect this name and logo update, including its website.

“Pro Bono Counseling’s mission and commitment to Marylanders has not changed, and our processes remain the same,” Explained Pro Bono Counseling Executive Director Amy Greensfelder.  “We are more excited than ever to reach out to community members across the state to ensure access to quality mental health care.”

Since its founding in 1991, Pro Bono Counseling, a non-profit 501c(3) corporation, has helped over 30,000 individuals and families throughout Maryland connect with volunteer counselors and obtain the mental health care they could not otherwise afford. Presently, Pro Bono Counseling has over 850 volunteer clinicians all over the state of Maryland who give over 10,000 hours of their time each year.
